23 March 2021 – Fine and Gross Motor Skills and Activities Gr 1 – 3
Fine motor skills are the ability to move the small muscles in your hands, fingers, and wrists. These muscles have a profound effect on a child’s ability to manipulate objects and make use of their hands, fingers, and wrists daily. These movements must also be coordinated and synchronized with the movement of the child’s eyes.
Gross motor skills involve the ability of the large muscles in the human body to move using the legs, arms, and torso. The coordination and synchronicity of these muscles will result in whole-body movement which affects their ability to balance, walk, run, and play.
Join us in discussing activities that build on these skills in children as they grow and become more independent.
