Tutor/Parent Support Programme Events

The Tutor/Parent Support Programme holds events which provide advice and enrichment to tutors and parents (both the ‘parent-tutor’ and the ‘hired-tutor’). These events are shared in a variety of ways which include, videos, LIVE presentations with a guest speaker where applicable (a Q&A session is also accommodated) and tutor and parent community discussions where ideas on teaching and nurturing skills, concerns and solutions specific to the needs of the students are shared.

Members of the Tutor/Parent Support Programme have, included in their benefits, access to these events based on the support package that they have signed up for. Non-members of the programme are welcome to attend events which interest them (for a fee) and are encouraged to commit to these events at least one day in advance of the event. 24 June 2021 - Early Identification of Difficulties in Learning (Gr RRR – 3)

Skype @ 11:00am

“The need for early detection of learning disabilities all comes down to potential. Although learning disabilities all occur due to the way the brain is structured or in the way it functions, the problem emerges in different ways and at different ages from one child to the next.

Children who may initially be thought to have lower intelligence than their peers may have normal intelligence, but have a problem learning that prevents them from reaching their potential. Not recognizing the reasons that young children struggle in school will prevent them from getting the help they need to reach their potential, then, and later on.”
